A practical path through installation, game discovery, and community-server connection problems.
Launcher installation
Make sure the installer completed successfully and that Windows has not blocked the downloaded file. If the launcher will not open, reinstall the latest build and restart Windows before trying again.
If you no longer want the custom launcher, open Windows Add or remove programs, find Beyond BAR, and uninstall it. This restores the normal launcher path; it does not remove your BAR game installation.
The game was not found
Install or repair Beyond All Reason using the official game installation process, then start the launcher again. If BAR is installed in a custom location, check that the launcher has access to that folder and that the installation contains the game executable and data files.
Security software can also quarantine or block launcher files. Review its recent actions and allow only files from a source you trust.
A community server will not connect
- Confirm the address and port are entered exactly as published.
- Check whether the server is currently available and whether its operator has announced maintenance.
- Allow the game and launcher through the local firewall when Windows asks.
- Try the official server or another listed server to distinguish a local problem from a server-specific problem.
- Contact the operator using the support link published for that server.
Listing a server does not guarantee uptime, moderation, safety, or compatibility beyond the information provided by its operator.
